The classic heavy metal band ends their trip without performing in Rio after equipment problems in Brasilia
Cancellation in Rio
The passage of the band Manowar to Brazil was tragic. The classic heavy metal band had equipment damaged in Brasilia and the tour’s final show in Rio was canceled due to low public demand.
The presentation, which will take place this Tuesday (11/26) at Vivo Rio, sold no tickets. The “low demand” was confirmed this Monday (25/11) by the production company Rider2, in charge of organizing the event.
Tickets were available on the Showpass platform, but the purchase address was deactivated due to the cancellation. The manufacturer also made an official note available on the event venue’s website with ticket refund information.
Problems in Brasilia
The performance in Rio would have been the last of the four dates that Manowar had reserved for the tour in Brazil, which had previously passed through Curitiba, Recife and Brasilia. The presentation in Brasilia, in fact, ended with confusion and damage to the equipment.
Confusion allegedly began between the company Marc Systems and the owner of the show venue, Galpão 17, who asked the team to dismantle the entire sound structure immediately after the end of the show. The company claimed that the collection would take place the next morning for logistical reasons. Angered, the owner of the place decided to throw out the sound system. As a result, the equipment was damaged and the company sustains losses of R$2 million.
The Military Police intervened on site and the people involved gave statements. The case remains under investigation.
