Linkin Park and “Two Faced”
In addition to live video, “Two Faced” got a clip directed by Joe Hahn. A press release describes the song as follows:
“Sparing nothing, the track revives the recognizable elements of the band’s signature sound, tempering grainy distortion with chaotic turntable scratches, sharp rhymes and a cathartic chorus. A raw riff anchors the track as Shinoda raps on the verses, and Armstrong alternates between a punchy chorus and a piercing scream: ‘I can’t hear myself think’.”
In review for Rolling Stone Brazilthe critic Igor Miranda comments:
“‘Two Faced’ it’s like a ‘One Step Closer’ of the modern world: it has scratches typical of Joe Hahn, the characteristic cadence of a good Linkin Park song, dynamics between calmer verses and explosive choruses and even the typical shouting post-chorus — an element used other times on the album, but here in fundamental form.”
