Simaria is the victim of deepfake: the councilor denounces the fake photos

Singer had intimate images manipulated by artificial intelligence and the case is being investigated by the police.

The singer Simaria Mendes, who recently returned to the scene alongside Ludmilla, is facing an episode of defamation for abusing her image. The artist was the subject of a leak of fake photos, which show her completely naked, but which, in reality, were created using artificial intelligence technology. The material circulated widely on social media, including Telegram, generating outrage and concern among his team.

The images, which spread rapidly across the Internet, were created using “deepfakes”, a digital manipulation technique that generates fake photos and videos using artificial intelligence.

Simaria’s office confirmed that the case has already been reported to the police, who are investigating the incident. The singer’s team also highlighted that scammers used tools available on the Internet to manipulate the artist’s photos, without her consent. Simaria’s office also revealed that the leaked images were circulating in a Telegram group that was banned from the application after the singer’s inappropriate content was published.

In an official statement, the press office reported that the situation is being treated seriously and that the singer’s lawyers are taking the necessary legal measures to hold those involved in the crime responsible. Furthermore, the team expressed concern about the damage to Simaria’s image and highlighted the vulnerability of celebrities when faced with new technologies, such as the misuse of artificial intelligence.

Simaria: Return to the stage and other victims of deepfakes

This episode takes place shortly after Simaria’s return to the stage, in a show hosted by Ludmilla in Rio de Janeiro, after a break in her solo career following the end of the duo with her sister, Simone Mendes, in 2022. During the presentation , Simaria sang the hit “Regime Fechado”, which made her famous when she was still in the duo.

Simaria is not the only public figure to be the target of this practice. In September, federal MP Tabata Amaral was also a victim of deepfakes, with manipulated photos spread across social media, creating false and sensual images. Additionally, in July, actress Paolla Oliveira reported that her image was being used by scammers to promote counterfeit products, warning of the risks of the technology.

The growing use of artificial intelligence to manipulate images and videos highlights the need to raise awareness about the responsible use of this technology, as well as the importance of protecting personal image in the digital age. Simaria’s situation raises questions about online safety and the limits of what can be done to prevent the spread of false and harmful content.
