The festival changes line from alternative indie rock to pop jazz with a lineup that favors singers of the genre
Female highlights
After announcing headliner Norah Jones, Popload Festival has revealed its full line-up for the 2025 edition.
The highlights are all female, with St. Vincent, Laufey and Kim Gordon (ex-Sonic Youth) among the main attractions. On the program there is only one international band, the retro Americans The Lemon Twigs, who join the Brazilians Terno Rei & Samuel Rosa, Tássia Reis and Exclusive os Cabides.
History and new directions
The festival, which debuted in 2013, has already had a solid rock and indie lineup, bringing in artists such as The XX, Tame Impala, Iggy Pop, Wilco, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Phoenix, Metronomy and Blondie. This year the tone is more alternative pop/jazz, represented by Norah Jones, St. Vincent and Laufey, while Kim Gordon has adopted an experimental/industrial noise line. In other words, more C3 Fest than the old Popload editions.
The event will take place on May 31st at Parque Ibirapuera, in Sao Paulo, curiously six days after the C3 Fest in the same location.
