The actor returns to the screen in Georgina Leahy’s music video, making a cameo that pokes fun at the scandal
rock figuration
Armie Hammer took the first step towards his return to Hollywood with an appearance in the rock video “Typical Squeeze”, by actress and singer Georgina Leahy. Hammer plays the character “Kannibal Ken”, as credited on the song’s official YouTube channel.
The song addresses the rebellious spirit of a woman who is not “a safe bet, a good girl or a typical case”, as the lyrics reveal: “Everyone has a wild side”. The video is directed by Jerry Brunskill, a personal friend of the actor and producer of his podcast, HammerTime.
Slow return to audiovisual
The “Call Me by Your Name” and “The Lone Ranger” actor’s career took a nosedive in 2021, following allegations of abuse and allegations of fetishes involving cannibalism made by several women. Despite the actor’s denials, he lost contracts, was dropped by his agency and left ongoing projects.
An investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and the county attorney’s office found insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges, which were dropped. Hammer, however, has been dropped and his only current representation in Hollywood is his lawyer.
Recovery and new beginning
In recent interviews, Hammer revealed that he faced suicidal thoughts and described that period as “a neutron bomb” in his life. He got divorced, went to rehab and launched the HammerTime podcast to share his take on the events that kept him away from Hollywood.
After three years of absence, he is preparing to return to the cinema in the independent western “Frontier Crucible”.
Georgina Leahy, who starred in the clip, has a varied career in entertainment, having appeared on shows such as “Helluva Boss” and “The Bachelor UK.” She was also a semi-finalist on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2011 and is currently a co-producer on the Peacock thriller “Bosco.”
