THE Iron Maiden published this Tuesday, 10, a video on YouTube showing the last live performance of Nicko McBrain. The drummer announced last weekend that he will retire from the stage. simon dawson will take over the drumsticks.

In the shared video, images from the show are shown. Iron Maiden of Saturday, 7. The date marked the end of the The Future Past Tour with the presentation at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo.

“Tonight is a very special night, as some of you, I think probably all of you, will know, because this morning we announced that Nicko announced that he was stepping away from live drums with the Iron Maiden“, he said Bruce Dickinson to the audience during the video.

He continued, while Nicko thanked his fans: “For 42 years, Nicko is in that band. He was a drummer before I was a singer, he was a pilot before I was a pilot, and now he’s not leaving the band, but he’s just not going to play live with us anymore. So we have a lot more music to do tonight, and I want the rest of the night to be a celebration of Nicka celebration of the joy he brought to everyone around the world, not just here in Brazil.”

In a statement published online (via Igor Miranda website), the drummer states that, after 42 years, he will step away from the group’s activities.
