In an interview on the program Good morning AmericaElton John revealed that the injury occurred due to a serious infection he contracted during a trip to the south of France. In the other eye he has partial vision.
“I have hope and I want to believe that everything will be fine. But at the moment I’m blocked. I can also give interviews, but I can’t record in the studio yet because I can’t see the lyrics,” he said.
The complications occurred in July. In September, the musician released a statement on Instagram which revealed the condition. “I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will still take some time before I fully recover the vision in the affected eye,” the text reads.
