Special, Lizzo’s fourth album, arrived on streaming platforms last Friday, 15
Lizzo released the fourth album of his career, special (2022), last Friday, 15th. Despite the singer having great partnerships with other artists, she chose not to include any collaboration on this album, because, according to the singer, she wanted a project in which she was the protagonist.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, the artist commented on the choice: “Obviously there were people that I’m a fan of and that I uploaded songs and everything, but it didn’t work. But I’m a little greedy when I think, ‘Man, I really just want to take this opportunity to show you guys what I can do.’
Lizzo concluded: “It’s a classic album with no skipping tracks and no collaborations. I think I deserve this moment.” Despite this, she reinforced that she remains open to collaborating with other artists and they are very welcome on new projects, but she wanted to create a record that was as “special” as the title says.
“I’ll be in everybody’s songs; everyone will be in my songs,” he said of future collaborations. “But I wanted to have my moment. I wanted to make a statement with my music and show the world what kind of singer I am, because I am a singer, okay?”
special is available on digital platforms.
