The sad decision Bring Me the Horizon think they’ll make after their show in Brazil

The band held their biggest headline performance in Sao Paulo, but their next steps may leave fans a little disappointed

November 30th bring me The Horizon performed his biggest show as a headliner. The performance at Allianz Parque, in Sao Paulo, seemed to have placed the English band once and for all at a high level in the music industry.

For 2025 there are only four shows scheduled, all at festivals and as headliners: Rock Im Park AND Rock Am Ringin Germany, e Reading AND Leedsin England. There is no doubt that the group is led by the singer Oliver Sykes has reached the highest level of popularity and admiration so far.

However, this has its price. The musicians are tired. Therefore, the group is considering taking an indefinite break.

The information was confirmed by Sykes in an interview with NME. The singer said that it is necessary “take some time to recharge your batteries”.

“I think so [iremos pisar no freio]. We need time to recharge our batteries and have that free time, because we don’t have any. The last time we stopped was when we were forced to do so, due to the pandemic. Even so, we were still doing things. It doesn’t seem like the band has had much free time.”

Many fans may not receive the news in the best way, however, Oliver guarantees that the decision, in the end, also benefits the work of Bring Me the Horizon. In his opinion, the extended break should help creativity.

“There will come a point where [o cansaço] It starts to influence the band and their creativity. I’ve been working with some producers on some stuff for the new album and I’m so “fried”. Nex Gen [álbum mais recente] and from that world I really need to have a proper cut-off point to let the dust settle a bit.”

Creatively separate projects

In this sense, according to Sykes, Bring Me the Horizon albums must be “very clear and separate from each other”. Otherwise there is the risk that one work “gets too confused” with the other, depriving it of its necessary uniqueness.

“For me, Nex Gen It has a very different sound horror of survival (2020) and I want the next one to be a complete new era aesthetically, sonically and in every aspect. It’s important to let Bring Me the Horizon go for a while.”

How long will Bring Me the Horizon’s hiatus last?

Oliver Sykes does not yet know how long Bring Me the Horizon will be interrupted. When asked about this, the singer preferred not to answer, but indicated that the interval might be a little longer than expected.

“I do not know [se 2026 é ideal para lançar um novo álbum]. We don’t know yet. It might take a little longer. Hard to say at this point.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer pointed out that BMTH didn’t even compose any new songs after that Nex Gen. We only know that the material should be part of the saga Posthumanwhich inspired the last two albums.

“The new songs don’t exist yet! There’s something more to the story of Nex Gen tell through music. We have many ideas and loose ends. There’s enough for there to be an extended version of the album. I’ve put in a lot of effort over the last few years, so I’m not trying to make any promises. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen, but there are some songs that our fans would love and it would be nice to release. It’s on the to-do list.”
