Because of this, the founder of pink Floyd criticized the two Canadian artists and opined how he is “much, much, much more important than any of them will ever be.”

Waters asked the Brad Wheelerreporter for The Globe and Mailabout perceived contempt, and the journalist explained how The Weeknd – a much more popular act these days – performed on the same night, and wheeler was ordered to cover this “bigger” show.

“I have no idea what or who it is. weeknd, because I don’t listen to much music,” replied the iconic musician. “People have told me what a great act he is. Well, good luck to him. I have nothing against him. Wouldn’t it be possible to analyze his show one night and mine the other night?”

Then, Roger Waters clarified, “I’m not trying to make a personal attack. I’m just saying how weird it sounded. And by the way, with all due respect to weeknd, Drake or any of them, I’m much, much, much more important than any of them will ever be, no matter how many billions of audience they have.
