Fan who was partially paralyzed after singer dived into audience sues band

Bird Piché had to undergo surgery after suffering an accident during the Trophy Eyes show

Australian punk band Trophy Eyes is being sued by a fan who was partially paralyzed after a show.

The vocalist John Floreani dove over the audience during a performance at Mohawk Place, in Buffalo, New York, on April 30 of this year. He reached Piche directly, who suffered serious injuries and had to undergo emergency surgery.

The band spoke about the case and regretted what happened, also sharing a link to an online fundraiser to raise money and help the fan.

However, now Piche is processing the Trophy Eyes, FloreaniMohawk Place and event promoter After Dark Entertainment for injury caused by negligence, as they failed to protect her from “unsafe and/or dangerous conditions” (via NME).

According to the process, Piche is asking for “an amount of money that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower courts, together with the costs and disbursements of this action.”

The family of Piche stated to NBC (via NME) that she recovered some movement in her arms and legs, but not in her fingers and toes.
