Bassist and founding member of the band passed away on September 27, 2024, about a month after the performance that generated the video for “Timeless”
THE Viper released a new music video this Friday (20). The song chosen was “Timeless”responsible for naming the most recent album by the Brazilian heavy metal band, available in 2022.
With direction from Caio Cobra — who had already worked with the group in “Under the Sun”, “Freedom of Speech” and “The Android” —, the clip was recorded during a show in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste (SP) on August 23. It was the penultimate performance of Pit Passarellbassist and founding member who died the following month, on September 27th.
Pit, who was also the group’s main songwriter, died after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He fell ill precisely at the show following the one portrayed in the video, in São Paulo, on August 31st. He was hospitalized and informed of the health problem that would take his life weeks later.

In a statement, the remnants of the Viper — which now has Daniel Matos in the vacancy left by Passarell — they say that the clip was already planned, but would present a different concept: it would show photos of fans at different stages of life. Dozens of people sent images, which are stored for a future project. The change was made so that the clip would be a tribute to Pit Passarell’s life and career.
The guitarist Felipe Machadoauthor of “Timeless”states:
“The idea was to pay homage to the fans who have been with us for so long, but with Pit’s death it was impossible for us not to pay tribute.”
In addition to Machado and Matos, Viper has Leandro Caçoilo (vocals), Kiko Shred (guitar) and Guilherme Martin (battery). Watch the music video below “Timeless”. If the player doesn’t open, click here to check.
