TO Gretchen (65) the balance sheet for the year 2024 is quite positive. The singer, who recently released the song My name is GretchenHe has experienced several extraordinary moments in recent months and is preparing to celebrate the end of year holidays with his family.
“I have had many challenges, but also many joys. I live in Portugal, but I have gone to Brazil several times for work and recording“, says Gretchen, in an interview with CARAS Brazil. “I ended the year as queen of a samba school. I also went to the Círio de Nazaré in Belém, which is a tradition for me. It was incredible, full of unforgettable moments. And I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings.”
The artist worked until the last month of the year, releasing his song on December 13th. The song was born from a meme that occurred between 2018 and 2019, and is now an Internet hit combined with the artist’s good mood.
“It was really fun [fazer a música]! It’s a remix that brings together several memes that people love to use. My Name is Gretchen was born there in 2018/2019 if I’m not mistaken, during a recording with the staff [do canal] Diva depression. This meme was so popular that it’s still alive today, I thought it was perfect to include in the song.”
Now Gretchen says she will spend Christmas and New Year surrounded by her family and makes no secret of her excitement about enjoying the holidays. “The end of the year always runs in the family, right? I like to be surrounded by those I love. It’s a time to eat, laugh, rest and simply enjoy the company of the people who are important to me.”
