Lady Gaga in Brazil: the undersecretary of Rio de Janeiro confirms the singer’s show in 2025

The free mega event is expected to take place on Copacabana Beach in May next year

Lady Gaga will be in Brazil in 2025. At least this is what the undersecretary for events and institutional relations of the Secretariat of State for Culture and the Creative Economy of Rio de Janeiro guarantees, Rodrigo Castro.

In a video posted on social media last Friday (12/20), Castro confirmed that the singer will perform in the capital Rio de Janeiro next year.

In the recording, the undersecretary comments on the main events of the city’s cultural calendar and includes the show in the list:

There’s a lot of good news out there. The state government is investing R$40 million in the Carnival (…), then it will come Lady Gaga“he said.

Despite his speech, he did not announce information such as dates or times.

Since November, Lady Gaga it was presented as one of the attractions of a free megashow on Copacabana beach. The event would take place in May 2025, following the model of Madonnaoccurred in 2024.

The rumors strengthened after the publications of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Pees. He posted a video showing Gaga singing “Shallow”one of the singer’s greatest hits.

Furthermore Lady Gaganames like Beyoncé, U2 and even a hologram of Michael Jackson have been indicated by the mayor as possible presentations.

The artist’s last show in Brazil took place in 2012 with the tour Born This Way Ball Tourwhich passed through Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre. In 2017, he sparked memes by announcing that Rock in Rio had been canceled on the day of the show.
