Around the LinkinPark with new members was one of the most talked about topics in music in 2024. Last September, after months of speculation, the band confirmed their return with the vocalist Emily Armstrong and the drummer Colin Brittain in the vacancies of the late Chester Bennington and the absent Rob Bourdonrespectively.

As expected, the decision generated controversy due to a series of factors. The choices of continuing without Bennington and replacing him with a woman would certainly not please everyone — and the remnants of the previous lineup knew that.

In the opinion of Noodles, guitarist for Offspring, the option proved to be “courageous”. In an interview with Brazilian journalist Marcelo Vieira (via Blabbermouth), the member of one of the most popular punk bands of all time celebrated the initiative.

Initially, he stated:

“I think it’s an incredible and brave choice for them. I know that many people will not accept a singer for whatever reason. But I think it’s a stupid reason.”

The musician, real name Kevin Wassermaneven revealed that he knew Armstrong’s work even before he joined Linkin Park. He said:

“Emily is incredible. She has an incredible voice. We’ve already toured with Dead Sara [banda que Emily integrava antes e da qual ela segue como integrante].”

Finally, Noodles said he admired Linkin Park’s work and wished his professional colleagues success. He pointed out:

“I wish these guys the best. I hope they are as successful as ever because Emily is amazing and these guys are great guys and they make great music.”

Offspring and Linkin Park in Brazil

Interestingly, both Offspring and Linkin Park have a great relationship with Brazil and intend to return in 2025. The punk band recently released a song in honor of the country, called “Come to Brazil” (present on the album Supercharged), and confirmed shows in five cities.

The presentations take place alongside other attractions: Sublime (met with Jacob Nowellson of the late frontman Bradley Nowell), Rise Against, The Damned, Amyl & the Sniffers and The Warning.

In turn, Linkin Park chose Brazil for a show on the exact day their new album, From Zerowas released: November 15th. The next day, they presented themselves again. Both performances took place at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo.

For 2025, the agenda was expanded and received four presentations in the country. They play in Rio de Janeiro (08/11), São Paulo (10/11), Brasília (13/11) and Porto Alegre (15/11). There are no tickets for sale yet.
