Roberto Carlos interrupted his New Year’s Eve opening show in Recife, in Praia do Pina, on Thursday evening, 26. The singer scolded the people who were in front of the stage at the time of the show.

“Can you free him, stop crushing yourself in front of the stage, please? Please get out of there, otherwise I’m not continuing this show,” he said into the microphone. According to the singer’s press office, he turned to police officers and spoke in front of the stage.

After the announcement the show continued as normal. The presentation was free.

It’s not the first time the singer gets angry with the public. In 2022, Roberto Carlos stopped a show in Rio de Janeiro to tell a fan to shut up. At the time, Roberto Carlos’ press officer explained G1 that he was “totally baffled” by the screaming while singing and that the problem began when the singer added to the repertoire a song he had sung in previous shows, Equitation.

“This is a softer song. He said: ‘Since you came early, be quiet’. It was as if nothing, they kept shouting,” the councilor pointed out. Roberto Carlos remained irritated until the next song, when he told the fan to shut up.

“Because he was a perfectionist, he prepared that number with great care. Then when he saw that he wouldn’t be able to deliver it as he had imagined, he felt a little sad,” the councilor said.
