Gis Gontijo brings female strength to livestock farming: ‘Love of agriculture’


In an interview with CARAS Magazine, Giselle Gontijo, known as Gis, makes a confession about leadership in agribusiness and celebrates her career

Veterinary doctor by training, Gisella Gontijo (57), Gis is a point of reference in Tabapuã cattle breeding. With more than 20 years of experience in animal breeding, in 2006, he took over the family farm, located in Dores do Indaiá, Minas Gerais, after the death of his father, consolidating himself as a leader in the agri-food sector.

“The love for agriculture and livestock is in my blood, in my DNA”, he states. Currently its focus is on the production of excellent genetics, with projects such as the Tabapuangis Auction, which will reach its fourth edition this year.

“My job is to share the best of the breed, for the benefit of Brazilian and global breeding”says, that, in her role as a farmer, she faces all challenges with determination: “Leadership is built on respect and mutual learning”reflects the cattle rancher.
