The singer claims to maintain a loving relationship with her sister, but emphasizes her focus on a solo career
Statement on solo career
Simone Mendes has ruled out the possibility of resuming collaboration with her sister Simaria Mendes in 2025. The singer underlined that, despite rooting for her sister’s success, she is focused on her solo career.
“My solo career continues. I’m very happy with my work. I love my sister and my story. But I think cycles come to an end. I’m in love with her and I hope she builds her career,” she said in an interview with BNews portal.
“For the rest, just cheering. My career continues, my story continues. I’m happy, I’m experiencing the best moments of my career”, concluded Simone.
What happened to Simaria?
Simaria has been away from the scene since the duo disbanded in August 2022. She recently vented on social media about requests she has received in relation to her solo career.
The singer highlighted her routine as a devoted mother and said that she makes her decisions without giving in to external pressure. “I wake up and take my kids to school, even though I’m doing my own thing, composing, writing… There are some people who keep demanding things that don’t make any sense.”
Simaria reiterated that her current priority is taking care of her children. “I just want to make it very clear to you that this is my life and I will come back whenever I feel like going back to work. I have my problems, I have my life. I have two children who depend on me. Exclusively on me, okay?”
