Sertanejo responds ironically to the journalist’s comment and reaffirms the political plans
Controversy on GloboNews
Gusttavo Lima responded with indignation to the mention of Demétrio Magnoli on GloboNews, after the commentator declared that he did not know the singer. The episode occurred during an analysis of the compatriot’s possible candidacy for the presidency of the Republic in 2026.
“Who is Gustavo Lima?”, asked Magnoli during the broadcast, triggering the artist’s reaction on social media.
Response from Gustavo Lima
In Instagram stories, Gusttavo Lima mocked the statement and asked his fans for help: “Someone tell him. I am the people, I am the citizen, the taxpayer, who supports this whole machine called Brazil.”
The singer’s political plans
The controversy arose because Gusttavo Lima confirmed his intention to run for president in 2026. “Brazil needs alternatives. I’m tired of seeing people in need without being able to do much to help them,” he declared.
The singer also recalled his past difficulties: “I myself have faced many difficulties in life, but I took advantage of the opportunities I had. I came from a very humble background, I also lost three teeth, but, obviously, I was able to cure me, a condition that many people do not have.”
Despite having been a supporter of former president Jair Bolsonaro and governor Ronaldo Caiado, Gusttavo Lima avoided mentioning any specific political support: “Enough of this left-right thing. It’s not about that, it’s about making a gesture for the country, in order to put my knowledge to the benefit of a project to unite the population.”
