After performing around 60 shows in 2024, the Angra decided to expand its agenda in 2025 beyond the month of March, which would be the last before a hiatus that should last between two and three years. Now, the band will extend its activities until August.

In March, 17 presentations will be held across Latin America, including a sequence of dates in Brazil. Between July and August, they return to the stage for a final series, to be concluded in Tokyo Marine Hallin São Paulo, on August 3rd.

Appointments are part of the tour Temple of Shadows 20th Anniversary Tour – Interlude. As the name suggests, the tour celebrates 20 years of Temple of Shadows (2004), Angra’s fifth studio album and notorious for reinforcing a reinvention promoted with the arrival of new members: the vocalist Edu Falaschithe drummer Aquiles Priester and the aforementioned bassist Felipe Andreoliwhich debuted on the album Rebirth (2001).

In a statement, Rafael Bittencourt highlights:

“It is a great emotion to relive this special time for Angra, in which we reached a creative peak and a lot of intensity […] with this universe of concepts, ideas and sounds that marked an entire generation and our own career.”

Angra Hiatus

Read the statement in which Angra confirms its hiatus for the coming years:

“Dear fans and friends,
It is with a mix of emotions that we announce a sabbatical period in Angra’s activities. After more than 11 years of intense dedication, composing, recording and performing in various cities and countries around the world, we feel that it is time to stop and recharge our energies.
This rest is necessary so that we can return even stronger and inspired. We know it will be difficult to be away from the stage like Angra, and we will miss our friendship and the good relationship we have as a band. We deeply thank you for the unconditional support and passion you have always shown for our music. Without you, Angra wouldn’t be what it is!
Before we enter this hiatus, we will have some special events. Soon, we will release our acoustic DVD, recorded at Ópera de Arame, of which we are extremely proud. In October and November, we will perform a European tour, and between the end of 2024 and March 2025, we will do the ‘Interlude’ tour where we will celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary Temple of Shadows and we will play the biggest hits of our career. We invite you all to be present at these last shows before the break, so that together we can celebrate these unforgettable moments.
During this period, the band members will dedicate themselves to other personal and professional projects. We will always be close to the fans in one way or another through these projects. We will remain connected through social media and promise to keep you informed about our next steps. Stay tuned to angra.net for information on show dates and Meet & Greet packages. See you soon, and may music continue to unite us!
With affection, Angra.”
