Eduardo Paes jokes about Lady Gaga’s show in Rio: ‘It will work’

Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) published on Sunday the 12th on his social networks the clip “Bad Romance”, one of the artist’s first successes: “Why so much anxiety?”

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD)published on his social networks this Sunday the 12th, the singer’s “Bad Romance” video Lady Gaga. After the post, many internet users began to question the arrival of the North American artist in Rio de Janeiro this year. Others also took advantage of the publication to call for greater investment in health and education.

“Calm down people! It will work! Why so much anxiety?”, said the mayor, without providing further details on the official confirmation of the artist’s exhibition in the city of Rio.

Although the official announcement has not yet been made, last month, Rodrigo Castro, undersecretary for Events and Institutional Relations of the Creative Economy Secretariat of Rio, confirmed the event for 2025 in the city.

In a video posted for the occasion on his personal Instagram profile, he spoke about his expectations for next year in terms of culture. Then he mentions the investment of R$40 million for the carnival: “After this comes Lady Gaga, comes the Rio Open, also comes many events related to COP-30. There are a lot of good things to enjoy and promote in this calendar of major events in Rio de Janeiro”.

Hours after the video was released, Castro took his profile private, making publication unavailable.
