At the end of December 2024, Rodrigo Castro, undersecretary for Events and Institutional Relations of the Secretariat of State for Culture and Creative Economy in Rio, confirmed in a video that the singer’s show will take place in 2025.
“There is a lot of good news out there. The state government is investing R$ 40 million in the Carnival, then comes Lady Gaga, comes the Rio Open, comes many events also linked to COP 30, which takes place here in Brazil”, he said declared Castro.
The singer’s performance is scheduled for May this year, on Copacabana Beach, modeled after Madonna’s free concert, held in 2024.

Eduardo Paes had already fueled speculation in previous publications. In an earlier post on X, he wrote: “‘All to Rio!’ Those who understand will understand Signs!”, accompanied by a video of Lady Gaga singing “Shallow”.
Rumors about the date intensified after the Copacabana Palace blocked its reservations between May 14 and 21 and June 7 and 14. The hotel was the place chosen to host the Madonna during her last visit to the city.
The manufacturer remains cautious
Despite the movements, producer Bônus Track stated that the event has not yet been confirmed. The company, which worked on Madonna’s show in collaboration with city hall, is involved in negotiations to bring Lady Gaga to Rio.
