Walking to the door you passed every day, eager to be greeted by those you love like he always does, but instead he’s greeted by a pile of ash and rubble.”
My soul aches for those who are experiencing this devastation first hand and I cry for my city. It’s beyond heartbreaking. Los Angeles represents “living the dream,” but the reality today is ruin and destruction.
At the time of the fire in 2018, Miley donated half a million dollars to Malibu Foundationwhich had been released recently. The organization used the money to help people in financial difficulty, as well as provide humanitarian assistance and contribute to reconstruction efforts, fire prevention and climate change initiatives.
The artist said he “personally supports” organizations, including Malibu Foundationwho are “helping fight the fire and support survivors” of this new wave. “Time, resources and dedication from within and outside our community will heal us, but for now it hurts deeply…” he concluded.
