The singer Raquel Virginiaknown for being one of the founders of the trio The Bays and Minas Gerais Cuisinelater called just The Baysreleased this Thursday, the 16th, the single “Consumption“, in partnership with The Poet. The track celebrates a new phase in the artist’s musical career./, the first solo project by Warner Music.

With strong references to Bahia, the artists chose to make a Bahian pagoda, in addition to recording the clip — which arrives this Friday, the 17th — at Feira de São Joaquim, in Salvador. The relationship of Rachel with the state comes from before she established herself in music, when she dreamed of one day joining an electric trio and wrote songs thinking about stars like Ivete Sangalo.

“It had to be in Bahia, a place of mixture, where the borders of prejudice are crossed by joy and freedom, where a straight man can tell a fun story alongside a transsexual woman without any problems,” reflected the artist. “I want to speak to the people of this unique land, serve fun, dance, boldness and make people think. If it was in Bahia that they discovered Brazil, that’s where I want to rediscover myself”

In addition to his musical career, Rachel has a career as an entrepreneur in the marketing area, where she works with her innovation agency NHAIwhich serves large mass consumer brands and has given voice to the LGBTQIAPN+ cause in interviews, consultancies and even at the UN. Now, in the month of trans visibility, the artist returns with a music video that adds a new chapter to the narrative that began with the singles “Give me more” and “Hypnosis”.
