In an interview with CARAS Brasil, Juliana Silveira tells the behind-the-scenes story of Floribella’s performances in Rio and SP and talks about her plans for 2025
The eternal Maria Flor to the fans, Giuliana Silveira (44) doesn’t hide the emotion of returning to the stage with the songs of Floribellaa successful soap opera from the early 2000s. Now, with more autonomy and decision-making power, the actress says that, despite her anxiety, she is enjoying the process much more – and assures that she does not intend to stop there.
“I’m enjoying everything I couldn’t enjoy 20 years ago“, he says in an interview with CARAS Brazil. Juliana Silveira will make two presentations, one this Saturday 18th in Rio de Janeiro and the other on January 25th in Sao Paulo. For her this moment represents an evolution of the shows she did in 2005.
“I didn’t participate in artistic decisions, I had no autonomy. I just rehearsed and went up on stage to follow orders and I confess that at the time of the shows I was already very tired, because I was coming from a strong recording rhythm.“, explains.
The actress says that tiredness affected all members of the team, who decided to stop performing after ten shows so as not to have to juggle with the recording. “At that moment I was sad… I really liked this exchange with the public, but I accepted it. I couldn’t do it alone, I didn’t have that decision-making power.”
Now the story takes on new directions and, despite the challenges, is rewarding for the artist. Silveira recognizes the affection of the public 20 years after the first broadcast of the telenovela, but says that he did not expect such a great reception from the fans, who have already sold out tickets, for a total of over 40 thousand people.

In the future he plans to travel around Brazil with the show, however he is still exploring the possibilities with his team. “I don’t want to take a step bigger than my leg“, she explains. Below, Juliana Silveira provides more details about the shows and talks about her other plans for 2025. Watch edited excerpts of the conversation.
How is the preparation for the return of Floribella going, 20 years after the telenovela aired?
It was crazy… we had little time to understand that we had to present what the public was asking for, it couldn’t just be a meeting, with the dynamics of a meet and greet. I thought: they want it, so let’s produce it! Thank God I have a talented team that believes in the vision and managed to organize everything in record time. The professionals at Somos Assessoria, together with BT Arts, worked tirelessly so that we could hold an exhibition in January, immediately after the Christmas/New Year break. I’m happy with the result, with the tests.
Did you expect it to be this successful? Tickets sold out in minutes!
I didn’t expect it… I was also nervous, I thought everything was too high, that people go on holiday in January, etc. Followers ask me for this return on Instagram, but we never know the real request. I thought that warming up in January with this meeting would be a good way to start Floribella’s 20th anniversary celebrations and understand who the audience is and how we could develop the shows. The show was supposed to take place only in October 2025, but 42 thousand people turned out to buy tickets. I got scared there, in a good way! It was then that I decided to invest from my own pocket together with my partners and create the show I call Incontro Musicale. I didn’t want to change locations because people had already bought tickets and I know that might make some people angry. I spoke to the team: let’s keep this size, we can’t move to a theater and change the dates in Rio. In Sao Paulo we managed to obtain a larger space while maintaining the date and time of the ticket sold. From that point on, it was a race to first create a script and then start producing costumes, hiring dancers, crew, etc. But like everything that is meant to be, it has a lot of strength and flows naturally, all the professionals I wanted to work with were available on the necessary dates. We were supposed to start this story in January.
Were there any difficulties with this return?
The little time available was the biggest challenge and at the beginning we had doubts about the route, whether it would be with a band, whether we would do it acoustically or whether we would go to a big party! When I hit the hammer and closed this part, everything started flowing better. Of course, it is important to have a team that believes in the project and is happy to carry it forward, that plays together. It took me a while to find these people, but I know everything worked out the way it was supposed to. It takes courage and will to put on a show in just a few days like we did. I hope the public comes back as happy as we were for having produced it.
Do you plan to do any other shows besides the presentations in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro?
I plan to travel to Brazil… we need to understand the places with the demand, the size of the theaters, how many shows we can do and we also need supporters and sponsors. I don’t want to take a step too far. I want to do these logistics well, so that the public can enjoy this return as they deserve and dream of.
What’s it like to see it? Floribella Is it still so loved even after so many years since the soap opera originally aired?
I know how special this affection from the public is. After a long time, this character still lives in many people’s emotional memories and I am aware that it is not something that happens continuously in the life of an artist. I know that few have had the opportunity to revive characters from their career and as happened with Floribella… who left the universe of soap operas and occupied other places, the radio stations of the country, the theaters, we did shows for 10 thousand people in Salvador, I have never forgotten this audience and the emotion I felt when I went on stage. There’s not much explanation, there’s no success formula that can be replicated. There is magic there and I believe in it deeply. I really appreciate this character’s gift in my life and this show is another way to celebrate life and the luck of having experienced it all.
Do you have any new projects you can talk about?
This year the series I created on violence against women entitled Estranho Amor debuts on an open channel on Record TV and will then go streaming. This year we will also shoot the second season… Laura was a character who shocked me and made me face the problem of abuse head-on. Each episode of the series is based on a true story and my character deals with violence and rape within marriage. It is a privilege to be able to participate in projects that are committed to raising public awareness of issues still to be resolved and I believe that this is one of the functions of art and my role as an artist. I can make the audience dream and be happy and I can also, through my characters, touch on painful issues so that we can heal collectively. I am privileged to be able to live many lives in one!
