Rock algorithms

If first the salesmen in the vinyl stores, the radio announcers and the VJs in the MTV were largely responsible for the curation and dissemination of rock culture, today this function is performed, to a large extent, by music streaming applications. It is their algorithms, without name or surname, that suggest songs to us, based on the words typed into search engines.

Our project comes to save this rock space, a little lost in time and memories, with good advice from personalities who have made the history of the segment”, observes Renato Barreirossuperintendent of the Promotion and Articulation of the Culture Factories managed by OS Catavento.

Music education and cultural preservation are about memories that are passed down from generation to generation. On this side, Rock algorithms uses influential personalities of Brazilian rock in each decade to talk about important movements born from the genre, starting from the 1950s, and recommends to young people a playlist that tells a little about the story of each song and each band.
