Series of Noturnall performances in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka reinforce the Japanese public’s admiration for the heavy music of the largest South American country
Although Japanese people generally admire Brazilian music, few artists from here have managed to perform in the Land of the Rising Sun. In heavy metal, there are rare names like Angra, Viper, Grave and Hibria. THE Noturnall is about to enter this gallery, with a series of presentations in the country.
The Japanese public will be the first to see the group, formed in 2013 from the ashes of the recently closed Shamanwith its new guitarist. Gabriel Veloso is also a member of Storia, Inorbito and Urantia and occupies the vacancy left by Mike OrlandoAmerican ex-Adrenaline Mob who left the formation in 2022.
Complete by Thiago Bianchi (voice), Saulo Xakol (low) and Henry Pucci (drums), the quartet will play in Tokyo (Holiday Shinjuku, 21 and 22/02), Nagoya (Heartland Spade Box, 23/02) and Osaka (Gabu, 24/02). In the first city mentioned, the band will record a DVD, directed by Bianchi and Jason McNamara. A music video for an unreleased track will also be recorded.

In addition to Noturnall, the MajusticeJapanese band led by Brazilian vocalist Yuri Sanson (ex-Hibria), and Illusion Forcea group with local and South Korean members.
THE Rolling Stone BrazilThiago Bianchi says that almost all of his albums were previously released in Japan β since the days of Karmaa band created in 1999 that he was part of before joining Shaman. Noturnall, curiously, did not have much initial popularity in the country. Still, the singer discovered on a recent trip accompanying his professional colleague Edu Falaschi which remains recognized there.
βTo my surprise, we are really known in Japan. I was stopped on the street several times, there was a big autograph line for Shaman and Karma records. I discovered later that the music of X-Japan which we re-recorded with Shaman, ‘Kurenai’was a big hit there β to the point that they physically recognized me on the street. Previously we had focused internationally on Russia, where we toured with Disturbedbut due to the war, we decided to turn our attention to Japan.β
After the Japanese release of Cosmic Redemption and bridges made by the Majustice guitarist, Jien Takahashiand of Juan Corrala member of Noturnall’s management, was invited to tour the country β and as a main attraction. According to Bianchi, tickets are already close to selling out and the production is even considering moving the events to larger venues.

Regarding the arrival of a new guitarist, Thiago emphasizes, firstly, his gratitude to Leo Mancini and Victor Francowho in recent years served as temporary members before Veloso’s permanent arrival. None of them were able to stay due to other career commitments β which made room for the current member.
βAll the bands I’ve had in my life have had problems with other members who had schedules with other bands. To avoid going through this again, we decided to bring in someone completely new, without major commitments to other bands. He is someone that several people nominated, his Instagram receives comments from musicians like Kiko Loureiro, Jason Richardson, Roberto Barros and Marcelo Barbosa. Itβs young, but at the same time it brings a new dialect, influenced by djent and math metal.β
