The music icons and best friends of real life Elton John and Brandi Carlile They are taking their friendship to the studio. This Wednesday (5), John and Carlile announced that they will launch Who Believes in Angels?a collaborative album, on April 4, via Interscope Records. The pair also released the title track of the album.

“This album was one of the hardest I’ve ever done, but also one of the greatest musical experiences of my life”John said in a press release. “He gave me a place where I know I can move on. Who Believes in Angels? It seems like entering a new era, and I’m pushing the door to enter the future. ”

I have everything I did so far behind myself, and it was bright, amazing. But this is a new beginning for me. With regard to me, this is the beginning of my career, part two.

The musicians started working on the project in October 2023 with Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt. “They challenged each other to leave their comfort zones to write and record an album completely from scratch in just 20 days”according to a statement.

The result was a collection of songs supported by Chad Smithfrom Red Hot Chili Peppers, Palladino Pinfrom NINE INH NAILSand Josh Klinghoffer.

“I’m still recovering from the fact that I was able to do that”Carlile said in a statement. “I think we all raise ourselves to Elton John’s standard of composition, and it was an incredibly challenging and inspiring environment to work, with everyone playing ideas, all listening to the ideas of others. It looked like a family. ”

The art of the cover of Who Believes in Angels? It shows the two artists – John in a golden coat and Carlile in a real purple – in front of a circus scenario surrounded by dancers. The musicians also released the album’s list of tracks, which includes songs like “Little Richard’s Bible”, “The River Man” and “A Little Light”. The disc will also have “Never Too Late”the song in which they collaborated for the documentary Elton John: Never Too Late.
