Several editions of the Brazilian event were held with free admission, but model had to be changed in recent years
THE Best of Blues and Rock It emerged in 2013 as a festival that, like so many others, charged a ticket. In the following years, the organization was supported by sponsors, which allowed to offer free admission to the general public. However, in 2023, the event abdicated the free format to resume the initial model.
The decision generated controversy, but was upheld for the following years – such as edition 2025, which will have shows on June 7, 8, 14 and 15 of attractions as Alice Cooper, Dave Matthews Band, Deep Purplebetween others.
In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Brazilthe president of Dance Marketing and creator of the festival, Pedro BiancoHe explained that or not ticket charges has to do with two elements: the presence of a sponsor and the investment in the attractions. When there is no company offering contribution and expenses are higher, there is no way to hold the event with free admission.
“We started the project without sponsorship in 2013 and charged tickets normally. We made two or three editions like this and wanted a sponsorship a lot. A sponsor came up and we managed to make some outdoor events viable. We remain in some closed and outdoor format, then we only opted outdoors and all free. Of course, it was a casting level (attractions) that demanded a slightly lower investment than the current one, but was not charged ticket because we wanted to give accessibility to the public. ”
Bianco ensures that the organization is still committed to offering good shows in an affordable way, but the values to be invested for the event took a lot of up before the pandemic. He comments:
“Everything grew, doubled, quadrupled: casting values, investments in media, communication, infrastructure, sound, light and all the things that are part of a good event. So I think the ideal is for sponsorship to enter, to help reduce the value of the ticket or perhaps even release the cost of ticket to the population. ”
Nevertheless, the absence of a sponsor does not prevent the event from holding. The organizer only regrets the situation.
“We didn’t stop because of a sponsor who fell away. I think Brazil needs such events and it’s a pity. Many sponsors still hesitate to enter the project. I think this is a strange thing. But also, for us, at that time of the championship, so much does want to come in or not. The event will happen the same and is happening every day more beautiful. I don’t make an event because of the money, but because I like it, I’m in love, 40 years ago. Money is a consequence. But you obviously need to be able to make a project stand up. It’s expensive, the return comes and I am very happy with this project. ”

Ticket values are R $ 600 (full) and R $ 300 (half). The sale happens on the EVENTIM (online, rate) website and at the physical box office (no fee) at Morumbis (box office 5, near gate 15 – Av. Giovanni Gronchi, 1866). Operation: Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm (does not work on holidays and holidays).
