Titled New Years Rev, feature film is based on band experiences before the acclaimed album Dookie (1994)
THE Green Day You will win a movie inspired by your story. The comedy takes the title New Years Rev and is in the production phase.
Starring Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foustthe feature follows three musicians who go to Los Angeles under the false impression that they would be the opening attraction to the Punk Band show during the New Year. The work is based on real experiences of the trio, which took place before the launch of Dookie (1994), album that exposed them to stardom.
In addition to the actors already mentioned, the cast brings Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey. The last two are known especially for the work in the series The Office.

Written and directed by Lee Kirk, New Years Rev was produced in Oklahoma, in the United States, by TIM PERELLfrom the Processtogether with the three members of the band: Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Cool. The production also has Stella Bulochnikov of Pat Solitano Productions, while Ryan Kroft, Michael Rapino and Jonathan Daniel act as executive producers.
Kroft commented on the group’s participation and the story behind the work (via Variety).

In early 2024, Green Day released their tenth fourth studio album, Saviorsuccessor of Father of All MotherFuckers (2020). The trio was also announced as one of the attractions of the festival The Townwhich happens at the Interlagos Race Track in São Paulo, on 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 September.
