Track originally available on the album Velô has gained a new version with a different arrangement, as well as a music video that unites the two artists
A rewriting of “SHY Moon”partnership between Ritchie and Caetano Velosoarrived on streaming platforms this Friday, 14, accompanied by a music video. The track was originally released by the Brazilian, with the participation of the English, on the album Fleece (1984).

Ritchie, Caetano Veloso and ‘Shy Moon’
The first meeting of the musicians took place in Caetano’s dressing room, after a show of the Fleece – Who rode Brazil before the record of the registration. The Bahian received praise from the British colleague, delighted with the “mysterious song of the moon”, but still hesitated to include her on the album, sixteen of his career.
Not long later, the invitation came to Ritchie to record her with him, since the song would be sung in his mother tongue. In a statement, the owner of the hit “Girl Poison” scored: “Coming from your idol is not an invitation, it’s an order!”.
Four decades later, the new version came after the artist born in England presented the song in an event that celebrated the 80th anniversary of Caetano, who said:
“I heard him sing this song, with the band, and it was superior to everything I had seen that night, and on other nights, here in Brazil. It was very professional, very beautiful. ”
The arrangement began to be created in 1992 by the bassist Jorge Helderand assumes the 6/8 compass of a waltz (via The globe). Fruit of work for an acoustic show, it was adapted to the electric format.
