Rolling Stone Brazil: How are the preparations for the show “Criolo, Rael and Mano Brown”?
Rael
: This show was ready, only it was an hour long, because it was created for festivals. Now, in a show of our own, we had to scramble in the repertoire, the setlist, introduce more songs and make them make sense to everyone and combine. Today, we are here in the second rehearsal and we are enjoying everything that is happening. It is a great happiness to be with two great artists you admire and who also have friendship and respect. Admiration is mutual among us. I can’t wait to arrive Saturday, the preparations are bubbling, the boiling ideas, we are in that rhythm.

RS: Where did the idea of joining Brown and Criolo come from this presentation?
R
: O Brown already had a show with the Crylethey had presented themselves a few times. When the Sweet wonders made the invitation to both, the Brown He decided to include me to add with them on the show. I felt very honored because I started my career singing Rationals MC’sat the age of eleven, so be on the side of the Mano Brown It’s something I can’t assimilate to this day. It is a great admiration that I have for the person, the work, the posture and everything. Cryle He’s my friend since kid, I have known him since he was 14.

When I met him, he was already rap. In this show, we are celebrating together. It is more than a spectacle, it is a celebration of three people, three careers that had struggle, resilience and that comes from three different broken. I’m from Iporanga Garden, Cryle Grajaú and the Mano Brown from Capon. We experience all this atmosphere of periphery, favela, cross challenges, survive all existing chaos within the peripheries, survive urban violence, police violence and racism. Through rap, we can manifest our art, our ideas and convey to other people. It is very massive to be doing this show together that tells all our history and the subjectivity of each, celebrating the national rap, this tool that instructed us, gave us success and strength.
