Singer revealed to Rolling Stone Brasil that her passion for British is not always and started after a student introduced him to a DVD
FERNANDA LIRA recall Amy Winehouse In a new tribute to the singer, deceased in 2011. The tribute will have a different format, in which she will tell British stories in the midst of her songs. The show takes place this Saturday, 8, at Cine Joia, in São Paulo, with opening of Supla interpreting a repertoire of Beatles.
In an interview with Igor Miranda to the Rolling Stone Brazil, Lira He revealed to have known the artist’s work during a period of life when he was not so open to other musical genres beyond metal. The moment that changed her perception happened in her English teacher times, more specifically when one of her students put a DVD from the singer, at the time already deceased.
“Not that I have any problems with pop today. I have a tattoo Beyoncé And I’ve been almost canceled inside the metal for liking her. But at the time, with all that more restricted mindset of ‘no, it’s metal’, I ended up neglecting the career of this artist. A student of mine said, ‘I’ll put a song here that I think you’ll like it.’ And he put an Amy DVD. When I saw that aesthetics, wonderful music, the unique voice, the impressive look and the authenticity, it talked to me in many ways. ”
The created connection was deep. Fernanda He reports that he started to consume everything related to the British and even noticed some similarities between the two.
“She’s Virginian too, (our) favorite color is pink, I read Tarot and she read tarot, her dream (too) was being a journalist – something I discovered very recently. So, I always had many things together with Amy. I always liked the authenticity. I don’t mean to say ‘Oh, as I am authentic’, that is not the question. But I have this thing that I’m very firm in my convictions, and who I am, I like to be in boxes very little. ”
Remembering Amy: Fernanda Lira sings and tells Amy Winehouse debut at Rolling Stone Sessions. The singer said there are plans to expand the project and do it in other places and dates.
