Iron vocalist Maiden criticizes bands who use backing tracks at shows
Bruce Dickinsonvocalist of Iron MaidenHe said he would never accept the band to use playback or backing tracks in their live performances. In an interview with Classic Rock, The singer stated that he prefers to abandon the stages to turn the group into a “Disneyland Maiden”with gimmicks to improve the sound at the shows.
“The idea of turning this into a ‘Disneyland Maiden’, with backing tracks and some tricks… no! Maiden has to be 100% real – and fierce!”said Dickinson.
Heavy Metal’s British band is about to start the tour “Run For Your Lives”which will pass through the United Kingdom and Europe in 2025 to celebrate its 50 years of career. The setlist will be composed exclusively for songs from the band’s first nine albums.

‘If it’s not real, it’s not Maiden’
During the interview, Dickinson talked about the growing trend of bands that resort to playback to improve live sound quality and ensured that the Iron Maiden I would never adopt this practice.
“Recently, a big fan said to me, ‘It’s so good to see Maiden still doing it.’ I said, ‘Yes, and we’re really doing it!’ There is no disagreement. This guy commented: ‘Many bands use backing tracks today …’ And I said, ‘No, no!’reported.
The singer was even more emphatic in declaring that if the band resorted to this kind of resource, it would be the end of Iron Maiden.
“This would be the day I would leave. Or the day we would stop. If it’s not real, it’s not Maiden”he said.
Tour and documentary celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary
The tour “Run For Your Lives” It starts in May 2025 in Hungary and follows cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin, London and Glasgow, ending the European part in June.
