Country Singer renounces a political project to invest in music and social causes

Just over two months after surprising the public with the announcement that would run for the presidency of Brazil in 2026, Gusttvo Lima turned and decided to leave his candidacy.

In an exclusive interview with Metropolis, the singer justified the change of plans citing the opposition of family and friends, as well as the difficulties imposed by the national political scenario. Now, his goal will be on the expansion of his international career and on the creation of Gusttavo Lima Institute, intended for the social actions aimed at the elderly.

According to the same artist, the initial enthusiasm with politics has been held back from the high level of polarization that should marry the 2026 elections. “The elections will still be very polarized. And when you enter politics, you have to negotiate things that are not always of interest for Brazil, but from the parts and people. I don’t have a stomach,” said Gustavo Lima.

Family pressure was also decisive for the backcountry to rethink his foray into politics. “My family was contrary, and weighed a lot. I am 35 years old. Nothing prevents me from running on another occasion, but at this moment I will go in another way,” he said.

With the withdrawal of the candidacy, Gusttavo Lima decided to double the bet on music and has announced new steps in his international career. Recently feeds a contract with Sony Mundo, the singer has revealed that she has already planned travel to Miami, where she will record new songs for her global project.

In addition, he revealed a new personal goal: the creation of Gusttavo Lima Institute, an initiative aimed at helping the elderly. “This is a divine mission.
