Fontaines DC recently passed through Australian radio Triple J To participate in the traditional picture LIKE A VERSIONin which artists present exclusive covers. The band chose a very different rereading of “Can You Feel My Heart”from BRING ME THE HORIZONincorporating excerpts of “Heart-Shaped Box”classic In uterofrom Nirvana.
Known for their guitar -guided sound, the Irish opted for a minimalist and immersive arrangement based only on synthesizers, keyboards, vocals and programmed drums. The interpretation brought a characteristic emotional weight of the band – especially the acclaimed album Romance (2024). The excerpt from Nirvana It appears shortly after the two minutes of performance, further raising the melancholy atmosphere of the version.
Conor Curleyguitarist of the group, explained the choice of the BRING ME THE HORIZON for the LIKE A VERSION:
It was the idea of Gian [Chatten] from the beginning. I think the sound of this song, with its electronic elements and its general vibe, reflects some of the things we explored in our last album, RomanceThen it seemed a good starting point. Also, it’s a dense and beautiful song. ”
During the rehearsals, the band even considered changing the cover for “Heart-Shaped Box “from Nirvanabut chose to keep the version of the Bmth And just add the 90s classic.
