American band performed for the first time in the country with the right to the special participation and surprise at the end of the setlist
THE Tool held its debut in Brazil. The American band, from sound metal to progressive to alternative, made the final presentation of the Samsung Galaxy stage in Lollapalooza Brasil 2025on the night of last Sunday, 30.
Maynard James Keenan (voice), Adam Jones (guitar), Justin Chancellor (low) and Danny Carey (battery) offered exactly what was expected of them: an unpredictable show. Whether by setlist choices, stage posture or screens and lighting, the group has not made it easier for those little or nothing used to their work – and may have even converted fans in the face of such courage.
The following list offers 5 highlights of the Tool Show in Lollapalooza Brasil 2025. Check it out!
1) Opening with “Fear Inoculum”
You can’t call the title track on the album Fear Inoculum (2019) “New Music”, but it’s still uncommon to witness an artist who opens a show with a song from her latest album. If it is unexpected, Tool Topa: As in other recent performances, they chose the intricate 10 -minute and 20 second composition to start the set.
2) Jessica Di Falchi on stage
Right in the second song of the night, a protocol break. Tool, which rarely receives guests on stage, brought the Brazilian Jessica Di Falchi for a participation.
The guitarist, former member of the Cryptaplayed with the Americans the music “Jambi”from the album 10,000 days (2006). And curiously, she had already given a discreet spoiler that this could happen.
In publication in early February on Instagram (via Igor Miranda website), the musician posted a photo next to Adam Jones behind the scenes of a group show in the United States and said: “Thanks for the show and the good moment! I see you soon, Adam Jones”. No sooner said than done.

3) Challenging use of screens
There were those who complained, but it is no coincidence that Tool uses the big screens differently from the conventional way. The American band displays psychedelic – and sometimes bizarre – animations throughout their performance, without filming the musicians at any time.
Why? Full focus on music and experience brought by art. The group is also very restrictive regarding the use of their image, so much so that it rarely allows transmissions of their shows. The performances in South America were the exception to the rule and the cameras could not zoom.
The idea of paying attention to performance is such that the quartet usually the use of cell phones during their shows. In South America, smartphones were only released because they were playing at festivals, where control would be much more complicated.

4) Danny Carey, Real Frontman
All members of Tool are masters in what they do, but there is no way to fail to highlight Danny Carey. The drummer, who has paraded technique and vigor even at the top of his 63 years, is one of the best not only of his generation, but of the whole history of heavy music.
The band knows that. No wonder Carey is the only one who has some prominence on stage: he is positioned in an area closer to the center and most of the time has a lot of lighting at his disposal.
5) Surprise music
The official Tool repertoire foresaw 10 tracks, with closing in “Ænema”. However, the quartet surprised the audience by playing another song: “Flood”albeit in shortened version. It was a rare nod to your debut album, Undertow (1993), usually ignored in setting up setlists.
