Band ended one of the stages of the festival in São Paulo with presentation that was new in the setlist and even presence of the founder of the event
THE Grave performed his first – and possibly last – show in the Lollapalooza Brasil. Largest national name in the history of heavy metal, the band took their farewell tour, Celebrating Life Through Deathfor the Mike’s Ice stage of the festival, on the night of last Sunday, 30.
By a complete chance, the group did well with regard to transmission. Justin Timberlakethe main attraction of the night, did not allow its performance to be displayed live. Thus, the quartet composed of Derrick Green (voice), Andreas Kisser (guitar), Paulo Xisto (low) and Greyson Nekrutman (battery) also gained space on the multishow pay -pay TV channel, as well as BIS, where it was cast anyway.

Check out a list of 5 highlights of the presentation of Sepultura in Lollapalooza Brasil 2025. A more complete opinion text about the show, signed by journalist Felipe Grutter, can also be seen at Rolling Stone Brazil.
1) New in the setlist
In some interviews before the show, Andreas Kisser had anticipated that he would bring to Lollapalooza a song that had not been played on the farewell tour so far. The surprise came to an end early in the set, with “Desperate Cry” entering as the third song, right after “Refuse/Resist” and “Territoritory”.
The track, original from the album Arise (1991), was not released as a single at the time, but is worshiped by fans and is among the most played of the group’s repertoires. On the other hand, it was not running live since 2019. Soon, it was her first performance with Greyson Nekrutman, recruited in 2024, in charge of the drumsticks.
2) Junior and Mr. Palooza on stage
As usual, the instrumental “Kaiowas” There was a number of guests on stage, among musicians, team members and friends of the Sepultura, playing percussion. Some names caught the attention:
- The singer and musician Junior Limabrother of Sandy and 50% of the duo Sandy and Junior;
- Giulia Kisserdaughter of Andreas Kisser;
- Perry Farrellvocalist of Jane’s Addiction and founder of Lollapalooza – for this reason, defined as “Mr. Palooza” by Andreas during an interview with Multishow.

3) Greyson Nekrutman more at ease
The grave members themselves admit that Greyson Nekrutman took a bushing. CALLED HUGE TO REPLACE ELOY CASAGRANDE (Today in Slipknot) Prior to the start of the farewell tour, the 22 -year -old American drummer had to quickly learn one of the most complex and striking repertoires in the history of the Heavy Metal battery.
The evolution of its performance throughout the tour has been notorious. Nekrutman seems to be more comfortable at the time that one day was from Casagrande, Jean Dolabella and the revolutionary IGGOR CAVALERA. Confidence was such that the musician performed the show with none other than Danny Careymember of Tool And one of the greatest drummers of all time, watching him behind the stool. It is for a few.

4) The underrated Derrick Green
The discussion involving the absence of Max Cavalera From the band in the last 28 years, sometimes overshadows the great work performed since then by Derrick Green. The singer suffered enormous rejection of part of the public of Sepultura with his entrance, but little by little seemed to have won his place. Today, it is hard to imagine the band without the 57 -year -old American, who has the breath and willingness of a young athlete.
In this regard, it should only be regretted that much of the repertoire of the show in Lollapalooza focused precisely on the “Max era”. Only three songs – “Kairos”, “Means to An End” and “Agony of Defeat” – They are albums released with Green. However, there is no denying that the great classics are in the records of the training considered classic. And it is also irrefutable that Derrick performs them with mastery.
5) “Ratamaroots”
Two of the most symbolic songs in the grave were used, combined, to end the show in Lollapalooza. “Ratamahatta”in shortened version, and “Roots Bloody Roots”they concluded the presentation with a brief but representative speech of Derrick Green among them: “Brazilian Sepultura”.
