Before only guitarist and songwriter, artist revealed that “dreams” in integrating band in which he does not need to take over the main microphone
Before entering the Linkin Park, Emily Armstrong made career with the band Dead Sara. The vocalist became part of the group of Mike Shinoda in September 2024, with whom it released the album Flutter (2024).
Despite the experience in front of the microphone, the artist revealed that her plan was not to follow as a singer. In an interview with the radio Q101 (via Ultimate Guitar) Armstrong He says he was “kind of forced” to take the position, as he would like his compositions to be presented in a specific way.
She explained:
“I was kind of forced to this, because I was annoying the singers coming out, others coming and out. I didn’t realize at the time that I wanted to sound in a certain way. I realized it later. We were about to do a small tour of the California coast, and the vocals couldn’t. And then I thought, ‘ok, I think I’ll do that.”
The artist also said she didn’t think she was the best, but because she had composed the songs, she felt she knew the ideal way to sing them. Over time, he realized that no one else could convey the sound she heard so clearly in her own head.

At another time of the interview, Armstrong Still commented on a dream. The vocalist, who is also a guitarist, wants at some point to integrate a band where she doesn’t have to take over the microphone.
“You can’t articulate something like that, you just have to do it. So I started doing that. And I found it so pleased to do it, be in a band, compose the songs and simply gaining life in a way. But at the same time, it’s a dream to be in a band with another singer because it was always something I really wanted.”
