Annually, the festival organization holds a contest for new talents to perform on the main stage of João Rock
One of the main festivals focused on Brazilian music, João Rock Officially started the registration for the band contest for the 2025 edition, which expects to receive 60,000 people. The event is scheduled for June 14, in Permanent Exhibition Parkin Ribeirão Preto.
Every year, in order to boost the Brazilian authorial music, the festival opens the marathon of shows with the presentation of new talents. This Tuesday, 15, the organization officially started the process to choose the group that will be chosen.
900 registrations from artists from all over Brazil is expected. Registrations run until April 28th. If you want to register, go to the official website of João Rock here. According to a statement from João Rock to the press, the contest is “focused on groups that dialogue with the musical identity of João Rock – from rock in its various aspects to partner genres such as pop rock, hard rock, samba rock, blues, grunge, hardcore, hip hop, rap, reggae, mpb, indie rock, among others.”
The second phase will take place from April 29 to May 13, when the public can vote for the bands registered. The 20 most voted will be analyzed by a technical jury, responsible for selecting the finalists for the qualifiers.
Who wins the contest will perform on the main stage of the festival, the João Rock Stage. “For us independent artists, this space on the stage of João Rock” Matuto SAone of the finalists of the 2024 contest. “Win the contest and participate in the event was a historic moment and, from the show at the festival, many people came to know our work.”
