Traditional Brazilian style leads the population’s sound preference with 26% and shows strength between different political groups
Lulistas and pockets are on opposite sides of a coin, but curiously there is something that unites them: the countryman. A recent study of Quaest (via Sheet) revealed that, among all musical styles, this is the favorite of both political spectra.
The genre is responsible for bringing all tribes closer and represents the choice of 26% of Brazilians. See some discovered results:
- Among the pockets, 30% point to the backcountry as a favorite musical style;
- Amid those identifying with the right, but do not support directly Jair Bolsonarothe index is 25%;
- There are those who, even without political positioning, have the countryman as a favorite, with 28% of the preference – same number of Lulists/Petistas;
- Those who consider themselves neither lulists nor petistas, but are left to the left, have 21%.
Second in the study gospel music. For 23% of pockets, the genre is regarded as their favorite choice; Lulistas and petistas add up to 15%. These, in turn, prefer samba and liningwhich together represent 27%.
The research also brought data from more genres. MPB is the favorite style of 6% of the population, while funk, 4%. The international pop accumulates the same amount, while national rock brings 3%. At the base of the pyramid is classical/ scholarly music, which totals only 2% of the preference.
