Mixes of a Lost World arrives in June with rereading of Chino Moreno (Deftones), Mogwai and others; Income will be reversed to the War Child UK NGO
THE The Cure announced the release of a new album of remixes: Mixes of a Lost Worldwhich arrives on June 13th. The project brings rereading tracks from the band’s latest album, Songs of a Lost Worldsigned by names like Chino Moreno (vocalist of Defton), TRETEMOSLLER, MOGWAI, Orbital, The Twilight Sad, Daniel Avery, Mara Masa, Ano, Shanti Celestebetween others.
As a preview, the band has already released two remixes: a new version of “Alone” by the hands of Four tetand a “cinematic” interpretation of “I Can Never Say Goodbye” made by Paul oakenfold.
All income collected with Mixes of a Lost World will be reversed to the WAR CHILD UKorganization that acts on the protection of children affected by armed conflicts.
In a statement, the vocalist Robert Smith explained the origin of the project:
Shortly after Christmas, I received some unqualled remixes from Songs of a Lost World – And I just loved it. THE Cure It has a historical relationship with various styles of electronic music, and I was curious to know how would the whole album reinterpreted by other people sound. This curiosity led us to an incredible journey through the eight original tracks, revisited by 24 wonderful artists and remixers – and the result has exceeded all my expectations. Donate project royalties to War Child makes this release even more special. ”
Launched in November, Songs of a Lost World marked the first studio album of The Cure since 4:13 Dreamof 2008.
