Police dispersed a crowd at a previous event at the Washington Square Park
Last Tuesday (22), Lord He sent a message to his fans: “meet me in the park.” The most attentive understood the message and ran to the Washington Square Park in New York. The space of almost 10 acres, in the heart of Manhattan, was quickly taken by a curious crowd, which was surprised when the singer came to play her new track “What was that that” in speakers in the middle of the park.
Wearing jeans and a bikini under a white shirt, Lord He danced to the sound of his own song while singing his verses: “Since I was Seventeen, I Gave You Everything / Now, We Wake From Dream / Well, Baby, What Was That?” Or, in free translation, “since my seventeen years, I gave you everything / now, we woke up from a dream / good, baby, what was that?” The fans vibrated with the makeshift scene, registering every second of spontaneous performance.

Hours earlier, however, a similar meeting had already been closed by local authorities. Park guards and police officers asked the crowd to scatter, claiming that the event had been canceled. Lord Commented the situation in Instagram Stories: “OMG @thepark, the police are ending us. I’m really impressed with how many of you appeared !!!”, he wrote. “But they are saying that you need to disperse … I’m sorry.”
According to a police spokesman (DCPI), the officers were fired at 6:47 pm after complaints from an unauthorized event at the scene. “To perform a show at a New York City Park, you need to have sound permission and use of space,” says the statement. “This person did not have either. The organizers were informed and left the place.” The artist’s name was not mentioned by the police.
