87 -year -old Singer waited more than 30 hours in an UPA in the center of San Paolo to obtain a specialized service, according to his biographer
The singer, composer, dancer and producer Edy Star87, died at dawn on Thursday 25, at the Heliópolis hospital, in the south of San Paolo. Star was hospitalized in serious condition after returning home last week.
Star was transferred to the Heliópolis hospital on Wednesday 23, after waiting for more than 30 hours for removal in Vila Mariana Upa (emergency care unit), in the central region of the city. During this period, the singer’s biographer, the historian Ricardo Santiago, promoted a mobilization on social networks to obtain a place for the stars in a hospital that could take care of his delicate state of health as soon as possible.
In the 90s, Star moved to Spain where he recited the theater and as a resort producer. Back in Brazil, it was adored by a new generation. In 2017, he released his second album, StarWith the musical production of Zeca Baleiro and Sergio Fouad.
A crowdfunding project was currently released to release an album only with songs by friend Raul Seixas. He also moves social networks with posts in which he opened his chest, or, “Bolsinha”, as he used to call, to show photos together with big names in Brazilian music.
Recently, the historian Ricardo Santiago has launched the biography I just made it live – Edy Star’s shameless oral story (Popssuara Publisher). Star was also the subject of the documentary Before forgetting, my name is Edy Stardirected by Fernando Moraes.
In your last interview with EstadãoIn December 2024, at the time of the release of his documentary, Star, once again, reaffirm his vocation to joy. “I’m here to have fun. I only came to the world for this and I continue to have fun.”
