The funeral of the singer, composer, dancer and producer Edy StarIt occurs this Friday, 25, in San Paolo. He died at the age of 87, at dawn on Thursday 24, at the Heliópolis hospital, in the south of San Paolo.
The information was published in the artist’s official profile on Instagram. The funeral will be open to the public, from 10 to 13, to the cemetery of Araçá (Av. Dr. Arnaldo, 666 – Cerqueira César, San Paolo). “If you can, be with us to a cheerful goodbye to which you have lived and inspired with such courage and intensity.”
Star was hospitalized in serious condition after returning home last week. He was transferred to the Heliópolis hospital on Wednesday 23, after waiting for more than 30 hours for removal in Vila Mariana Upa (emergency care unit) in the central region of the city.
According to a statement issued by the singer’s press office, the causes were respiratory failure, acute renal failure and acute pancreatitis. The text also says that the singer died “serenely, painless as he received medical care”.
A note signed by the coordinator of the medical service of the emergency service of the Heliópolis hospital, Waldir Rocha de Azevedo Neto, says that the medical team has dedicated “continuous and intensive care, making all the necessary efforts” to save the singer. “Despite the implementation of all the clinical interventions indicated, including ventilatory support, hemodialysis and intensive management”, it was not possible to avoid the death of Star.
