Film based on the biography of U2 vocalist, Bono: Stories of Surrender will be available from May 31st on Apple TV+
Bono shares some of the most significant stories of your life and career in the new trailer for Bono: Stories of Surrenderwith debut scheduled for May 30 on Apple TV+.
The documentary is described as a “vivid reimagination” of the solo spectacle Bono presented at the Beacon Theater in New York in April 2023 (part of his autobiography based on his autobiography Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story). The film will feature unpublished images of these presentations, as well as performances from various U2 classics. The trailer includes versions of “City of Blinding Lights” and “Where the Streets have no name”.
“These are the great stories of a soft rocker”jokes Bono, 1.68m, at the beginning of the new trailer. The preview shows him telling how he met his future wife, Therein the same week as it entered the U2and talking about his sometimes complicated relationship with his parents – especially after his mother’s death.
“My father’s answer to this tragedy was never to talk about her. I longed for my father’s attention, so I sang louder and louder.”
At another point, Bono reflects on the nature of showbusiness, art and particular trick that great artists need to master. “In the search for the truth, we are capable of more untruths than most”He comments, as he tilts what appears to be a Guinness Pint from side to side – and the “liquid” remains motionless inside the glass.

Bono: Stories of Surrender was directed by Andrew Dominik. In addition to debuting in the traditional streaming format, an “immersive” version of the film will be released to Apple Vision Pro. It will be the first feature film in Apple Immersive Video, a virtual reality format that offers 180 degrees video, putting viewers on stage next to Bono.
