Musician performed the final show of the first day of Bangers Open Air, heavy sound festival that takes place until Sunday, 4, in São Paulo
Glenn Hughes held, on the night of last Friday, 2, the closing show of the first of the three days of Bangers Open Air. The heavy music festival takes place until Sunday, 4, at the Latin America Memorial, in São Paulo, and will feature performances Avantasia, Kerry King, Wasp, Blind Guardian, Saxon, Sabaton, PowerWolfbetween others.
Amid his presentation as the main attraction of the inaugural date, Hughes made an important announcement. After eight years, he would end a long -term tour that revisited his period as a member of Deep Purple, between 1973 and 1976, resulting from the albums Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974) and Start tasta the band (1975).
It should not mean the complete deletion of Purple song from your repertoire, as it is hard to imagine your show without songs like “Burn”, “Stormbringer” and/or “Mistreated”. However, it is expected that from now on the artist will prioritize other moments of his career-he also joined bands like Black Sabbath, Trapeze, Hughes/Thrall and Black Country Communion – And especially, launch a new album.

Glenn’s look also indicates a “new era.” At the end of 2024, the 73 -year -old artist decided to cut his long locks. Live, it has used less flashy costumes than those used in the tour that has been called Classic Deep Purple Live.

On the other hand, the British musician spoke nothing about his next shows in Brazil, which would indicate a “goodbye” of the stage. Porto Alegre (11/11), Belo Horizonte (11/13), Rio de Janeiro (14/11), again Sao Paulo (16/11) and Curitiba (18/11) are on the artist’s route in a “farewell tour”, as announced by the local producer. Even on the internet, he did not even comment on the topic. Will he really retire? Only time will say.
