Vocalist is involved with Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones in recording a new album – the first in 50 years – for one of her old bands
Recent rumors that Rod Stewart It would be retiring not only were they discarded by himself but also gave way to confirmation that the singer is recording a new album, which will mark his return to Rock and Roll.
This is because the album in question will not be linked to the solo career, but to the Facesyour old band alongside old friends as Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) and Kenney Jones (SMALL FACES, The Who). That is, the proof that Rod is back to rock.
Who gave the news was Kenney Jones in an interview with the newspaper The Telegraph (via People). The drummer confirmed that the trio already has material for what will be the first album of FACES in more than 50 years – the last had been OOH LA LA (1973).
According to him, about 11 songs are crawled:
“Not all will be suitable (for the disk), but most of them are good.”
Kenney did not know when the album will be ready, but believes it will be, at the latest, in 2026. If Ronnie Wood’s commitments to Stones leave …
“I can’t imagine the release this year (2025). But I can imagine next year. Everyone is doing different things. We do small (recording) stretches here and there. Then, suddenly, the Stones are on tour again, Rod is out again …”
