Banda held a pair of presentations in Vibra São Paulo in celebration of the two decades of Acoustic MTV; Tour continues for several capitals
THE Iran! held last Friday, 9, and Saturday, 10, two shows in São Paulo with full execution of the album Acoustic MTV: Wrath! (2004). The performances at Vibra São Paulo were part of a tour that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the displeased record, which put the group commanded by Nasi (voice) and Edgard Scandurra (guitar and voice) in a new wave of success.
The duo was accompanied by the fixed members Johnny Boy (keyboards) and Evaristo Padua (battery), besides Daniel Scandurra (low), Jonas Moncaio (Tchello, flute) and Juba Carvalho (percussion) composing the special training of the tour. After the weekend in São Paulo, the group will go to cities such as Rio de Janeiro (07/06), Goiânia (06/21), Curitiba (08/08), Belém (15/08), Belo Horizonte (04/10), Porto Alegre (08/11), among others.
The start of the tour was marked by a controversy, as four shows of the band in southern Brazil were canceled. Jaraguá do Sul (30/04), Blumenau (05/01), Caxias do Sul (02/05) and Pelotas (03/05) ceased to receive the group due to a position of Nasi during Contagem Performance (MG), in late March. The singer asked that supporters of the former president Jair Bolsonaro Leave the audience after boos because he triggered the scream “No amnesty”in reference to the prisoners in the attacks of January 8, 2023 in Brasilia.
The statement of houses and producers responsible for the four shows in the south states: “We have received numerous requests for cancellation of purchased tickets, withdrawal from sponsors and the clear risk of non -priority of sales to dates.”. In turn, the singer recognized the losses and apologized to the bandmates for the inconvenience caused, but reaffirmed his position for democracy and stated that the group was already recovering.
In Sao Paulo, the wrath! did not face the public opposition. Even the audience came from the same scream of “no amnesty” that put Nasi in bad sheets weeks before. The fan demonstration took place after the end of “Days of Fight”fourth song of the setlist. Watch video below.

Exception made to the brief statement of the same words (“no amnesty”) in the midst of “Rubro Zorro”seventh song of the repertoire, the band made no direct statements about politics or about the controversial episode of recent weeks. There was, however, a moment in the bis where Nasi left an indirect message. “I don’t need to say anything to you”declared the singer, amid the demonstrations of support of the audience.
