Nunez, Venere will Venus and Almada compete in the line-up of João Rock 2025 and perform live on the 25th in Ribeirão Preto; Finalist takes the official stage
THE Band of João Rock revealed the three names that will compete for a place at this year’s festival. They are: the singer Nunezdirect from the state capital; Venere will Venusfrom Mogi das Cruzes (SP); and Almadaalso from São Paulo. Artists will perform live on May 25, in Art housein Ribeirão Preto. Whoever wins joins the official line-up of the João Rock Stageat the event scheduled for June 14.
Representing the strength of the São Paulo authorial scene, Nunez Mix elements of hip hop with Brazilian rhythms, creating tracks that translate the daily life in the form of verses. His lyrics talk about spirituality, affections, challenges and overcoming. The artist already prepares the release of his second album, Karavanascheduled for this year.
The band Venere will Venusformed by Moon Dultra (voice), Avila (guitar), Rey Sky (low) and Caio Luigi (battery), arrives from the Mogi das Cruzes region with a sound that moves between rock, blues, MPB and other references. His songs balance power and melancholy with personality and sensitivity.
Completing the finalist trio is the group Almadawho bets on an alternative pop rock filled with dancing melodies and letters about sincere emotions. The band promises a light, engaging and energy performance on the final stage.
About the contest
Opened on April 15, the initial phase of the selection received registrations from bands and artists from all over the country. Candidates needed to dialogue with the musical spirit of João Rockthat embraces aspects such as alternative rock, indie, rap, hip hop, MPB, blues, reggae, samba rock, grunge and other related styles.
In the second stage, between April 29 and May 13, the public voted for subscribers through the festival’s official website. The 20 most voted proposals followed to evaluate a technical jury, which defined the three finalists based on criteria such as authenticity, creativity, stage mastery and technical quality. These live performances will help to elect the name that joins the line-up of one of the greatest music festivals in Brazil.
